We entered the 2014 season full of optimism, as both our Pro and 2nd Division teams were defending champions. However, injuries quickly made it obvious how difficult it would be to defend our titles.
The Pro team had a difficult start to the campaign and was forced to play many players out of position, which made it difficult to remain stable at the back. Furthermore, opposition teams were more aware of our powerful counter attack and it was much more difficult to score goals than in the previous season. A late push saw us make the playoffs and salvage the season, but it was still disappointing to miss out on our title defence.
The 2nd Division team started out more brightly and managed to hold on to the second position in the standings for a while, but a tough run of games just after the midpoint of the season saw any chance of the regular season title slip away. The team did manage to hold on to a top-4 position, however, and made club history by clinching our first ever home playoff berth. The team managed to make it to the finals again so that our club had at least some representation on the final day, but silver medals were all we would get.
Now, the 2015 season is in sight and there are new reasons for optimism. There will be new blood in the club and the league, and new reasons to hope. Keep calm, and keep your eyes on us!
